A young woman from Sacramento was arrested Saturday in Woodside after authorities said she had been stealing items from unlocked cars in the area.
Deputies from the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office were sent to the 4100 block of Jefferson Avenue just after 9 p.m., after a witness reported seeing a woman breaking into a car in front of a home, authorities said Sunday.
Jamie Cordero, 22, was found by deputies inside someone else’s car when deputies arrived, and they determined that she had “taken items from numerous unlocked vehicles and was in possession of stolen property from multiple victims in the immediate area,” the sheriff’s office said Sunday in a press release.
Deputies spoke with three additional victims who were unaware the crimes took place. Authorities said two of the victims had items stolen from unlocked vehicles and two others had their mail stolen.
Cordero was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County jail on suspicion of tampering with a vehicle, possession of stolen property, petty theft and mail theft.
