SAN JOSE — One person was injured late Tuesday night in a shooting that occurred on Highway 101 near Brokaw Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP released limited details about the shooting, which was reported at about 11 p.m, stating only that the victim “suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.”

Wednesday, the CHP said it does not appear the victim was chosen randomly.

“It does appear that the victim was targeted,” CHP Officer John Fransen said. “But it’s something we’re still looking at.”

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact CHP investigators at 707-917-4491.
