George and Amal Clooney’s marriage is in trouble, and they are gearing up for a custody battle over their twins, a number of outlets have reported.
The couple was wed in September 2014, but Radar Online describes the marriage as troubled and “hanging by a thread.” The outlet quotes an unnamed source that said George and Amal are just not a good fit.
“George and Amal have been arguing over their varying lifestyles — and rumors of a rift have been going around for months,” the source said. “She’s all business, he’s all play. They’re like oil and water. They don’t mix — and there’s talk of a possible custody fight over the twins.”
The report also said that the pair is already living apart, with Amal and 20-month-old twins Ella and Alexander moving out of the family home in England and relocating to the Italian island of Sardinia.
“George has been partying a lot and hanging out with his business partner Rande Gerber,” according to the source. “George likes to be the life of the party. It helps him to take his mind off his troubles.”
The Blast reported that Amal hung out with Cindy Crawford in Studio City on Thursday. The supermodel is married to Gerber, George’s partner in his Casamigos tequila business venture. Neither George nor Gerber were present in the women-only outing.
Amal was with George in August following his scooter accident in Italy, but they haven’t been seen together since, according to the Blast’s report.
Radar Online also reported that the couple hasn’t been photographed together since then.
“Amal skipped George’s annual Halloween party for his Casamigos tequila in Las Vegas last year, and they spent their fourth wedding anniversary apart,” the source told Radar Online.
“He was whooping it up in L.A. with his friends while she stayed in New York with the kids, attending the United Nations General Assembly. Everyone’s buzzing that George told Amal he wanted out of the marriage!”
But Gossip Cop disputed the reports of a possible split, saying that the actor and civil rights attorney were seen holding hands as they left a United Nations event together in New York City last month.
Gossip Cop also said that it was told by a Clooney representative that talk about a divorce is “completely made up.”
