SAN JOSE — A hit-and-run collision closed all lanes of northbound Highway 17 at Interstate 280 for about 40 minutes Friday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred shortly after 8 p.m., when a car hit a motorcyclist and drove off, said CHP Officer Ross Lee.

Lee said the motorcyclist was taken to Valley Medical Center with injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening.

Additional details about the collision, including a description of the car, were not immediately available.

The CHP closed all northbound lanes of Highway 17 about 8:20 p.m. and diverted traffic onto southbound Interstate 280. The roadway was reopened shortly before 9 p.m.
