Police responding to a report of gunfire in San Jose early Monday found two men shot, with one victim grazed by a bullet and the other taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

“The motive or circumstances surrounding the shooting are under investigation. No suspects have been identified or apprehended,” San Jose Police Sgt. Enrique Garcia said.

Officers had responded just before 12:30 a.m. to the reported gunshots, Garcia said. The man wounded in the shooting was treated at the scene, in the area of Williamsburg Drive and Winchester Boulevard, Garcia said.

The coroner is expected to release the name of the deceased man after his identity is confirmed and next of kin have been notified, Garcia said.
