OAKLAND — A 21-year-old man was shot more than once while sitting his car Sunday, one of two shootings that happened in a 10-hour period in East Oakland, police said.

The other one happened very early Monday morning and wounded a 23-year-old man, police said.

Both men were alive Monday, but police had no other information on their conditions.

According to police, the first shooting happened in the 7600 block of Ney Avenue, just about a block away from where a 44-year-old man was shot to death on Friday afternoon. Police said they do not believe the Sunday afternoon shooting and the Friday homicide were linked to each other.

The 21-year-old was in his car when two men approached it and fired multiple times, police said. The motive for the shooting has yet to be determined by police, and they have not made any arrests.

The other shooting happened in the 9100 block of E. Street just after midnight Monday, police said. Police did not have many details in that shooting. The 23-year-old went by ambulance to a hospital. Police have not announced any suspects or made any arrests in that shooting,
