NEWARK — Police said they were investigating a weekend injury shooting that sent a man to the hospital, authorities said.
Just after 4:45 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 38600 block of Sycamore Street, and arrived to find a man with a gunshot wound to his lower body, police said in a statement.
Officers and Alameda County Fire Department firefighters provided the man, identified only as a 23-year-old Antioch resident, with care before taking him to a hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury.
Detectives were working to find out where the shooting happened and the victim’s location.
