Archbishop Spalding graduate Brevin Easton is getting a chance to realize an NFL dream.

The 5-foot-11 wide receiver has signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent, the University of Albany posted on X, formerly Twitter.

In 15 games last season, Easton had 1,086 yards and 13 touchdowns on 57 receptions to help guide the Great Danes to their first Coastal Athletic Association Championship and a 7-1 league record. Albany reached the semifinals of the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs.

Easton initially chose to play for Division II Assumption and was seen as an inspiration to the Cavaliers who followed.

Easton follows in the footsteps of Spalding product Julius Chestnut, a 2018 graduate who went to Sacred Heart before the Tennessee Titans signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2022. He signed a one-year contract in March.

And there’s a chance for even more Anne Arundel County players to find their way into the NFL.

Cornerback Ryan Poole, a 2018 St. Mary’s graduate, accepted a rookie camp invite by the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.

A captain and All-CAA first-team pick as a senior for William & Mary, Poole ranked second in the conference in passes defended (13) — he ended his career third in school history with 50 passes defended — while finishing 14th in the country in passes defended per game (1.2). He totaled 43 tackles in 2023, including a game-high 10 tackles against Elon.

The Annapolis native split time at wide receiver and cornerback for St. Mary’s, helping the Saints capture the 2017 Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association B Conference title. He was a two-time all-MIAA selection and an All-Capital Gazette pick in 2016.
